Callaghan has set herself quite a challenge for May 2013.
Starting in Boston on May 3rd she will work her way across the USA playing a house show each night as she journeys from sea-to-shining-sea!
The tour’s called Callaghan Across America.
After the Boston show, the tour will wind its way across the USA to reach Berkeley California by Sunday June 2nd. What the route will be between those two destinations will depend on who hosts a show!
Callaghan is very excited to be joining another lineup of amazing musicians on the 2013 Cayamo Music Cruise.
This vibrant journey through song, where songwriters and their most passionate listeners are brought together on vacation, sets sail January 13-20, 2013, on the Norwegian Pearl from Miami, including stops in the beautiful islands of Tortola and Antigua.

It has been 9 months since I’ve been back to the UK and so the next 3 weeks are a long awaited treat. I won’t be doing any gigs while I’m back, just catching up with friends and family and seeing how my hometown of London has changed after the recent Olympic celebrations. I can’t wait! ....

Shawn Mullins Produced Life In Full Colour
For UK-Born, US-Based Singer-Songwriter
Singer-songwriter Callaghan is scheduled to release her album, Life In Full Colour, on May 1, 2012. The record was tracked in and around Atlanta with Shawn Mullins both producing and playing on the album. Life In Full Colour’s 12 songs present the singer’s eclectic and dynamic style, combining shades of folk, country, rock and pop into a seamless fusion of feeling and melody.
A long-time Mullins fan, Callaghan contacted the Grammy nominated singer-songwriter in 2009 through MySpace, and Mullins agreed to a rare collaboration. An initial recording trip to Atlanta yielded three songs, prompting her life-changing decision to move to the USA in 2010 to finish the album. Callaghan left her London digs and boarded a plane headed for the American South: the experience was the inspiration for the opening track and first single from the album, “Best Year”. She now calls Atlanta, and the United States, home.
Says Callaghan of the experience: “When I got on that plane from London to Atlanta, I didn't know what to expect, but the welcome and the reaction to my music has been amazing. I knew that Shawn Mullins was the right producer, and working in the studio with such a meticulous and gifted artist has been a real education for me as a musician and a songwriter. The songs on Life in Full Colour reflect the moments all of us experience in our lives; from the joy of being in love to the mess of falling out of love, from the loneliness of bereavement to the happiness of meeting the right person at the right time. "Best Year" is about the story that brought me here and a hope and belief that the best is yet to come.”
Says Mullins of the collaboration: “Callaghan is a truly amazing artist. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard a voice as strong and as true as hers. It just shines. Working with her in the studio was incredible; I felt an immediate connection to her music. She’s a remarkably strong pop melodist – her sense of melody is timeless and there is a classic quality to her songs.”
Born in Boston, Lincolnshire to a musical family, Callaghan was classically trained on flute from age 6, then gravitated toward singing and playing piano. By 14 she was writing songs, and started trekking to London to record with various producers. At 18 Callaghan moved to London to live with her sister (whose flat was so tiny, the singer slept under the kitchen table), while recording a number of independent EPs and playing all over the city, at spots like the Bedford, Regal Room, Royal National Theatre and 100 Club. Since landing stateside Callaghan has toured extensively throughout the U.S. playing in 30 states alongside Mullins and in her own headline shows. Now that Life In Full Colour is ready for release, further touring is planned in support throughout 2012. (Click HERE for confirmed tour dates)

Callaghan recently appeared live on WCNC's "Charlotte Today", being interviewed and performing new single "Best Year" from her upcoming album "Life in full colour".

Callaghan to sing at the Gigi’s Play House Atlanta event on March 3rd
In 2011, shortly after moving to Atlanta, Callaghan was asked to support Gigi’s Playhouse Atlanta at their first fundraising event.
Gigi’s Playhouse is an awareness centre for children with Down Syndrome or Trisomy 21. The playhouse offers specialist physical and speech therapies, literacy classes, and a place for kids and their families to come together.
There are already several playhouses in Chicago and other cities. The Gala event in February 2011 raised enough to open Atlanta’s first Playhouse in Midtown. Around 1,000 Atlanta families need the services the Playhouse offers, so the parents who set up Gigi’s Playhouse Atlanta are hoping to raise more much needed funds at their March 3rd event.

Callaghan on the road - making 2012 the Best Year!
This year is off to a great start! On Saturday January 7th I celebrated my birthday with a full band show at Eddie’s Attic - thanks to everyone who came out!
Then it was down to Florida for the wonderful 30A Songwriters’ Festival . I played three shows on the beautiful gulf coast. I love the audiences at the festival, and the great thing is that when you are not playing you can watch songwriters you have always wanted to hear. This year’s line up was over 100 strong and included; Rodney Crowell, Shawn Mullins, Amy Ray, Randall Bramblett to name a few.
January also included shows in Tennessee, North & South Carolina and Georgia with Erick Baker, a great singer-songwriter who you will hear a lot more about.
2012 is going to be all about the road as I build up to the full release of Life in Full Colour...look out for shows coming up in Indianapolis, St Louis, Chicago, New York, Knoxville, Raleigh, Philly and many more here: VIEW ALL GIGS

Birthday Show at Eddie's Attic
It’s only January but 2012 is off to a great start! On Saturday January 7th I celebrated my birthday with a full band show at Eddie’s Attic. It was a sold out show and a lot of fun.
